Highland Dancing

Scottish Highland Dancing, with its energetic yet elegant movements, is known for its quick footwork, powerful jumps and a strong stage-presence. It is mostly performed along or in small groups to bagpipe music.

Highland Dancing is a breathtaking mix of precision and grace, and combines tradition with passion. Discipline, stamina and coordination are important elements of this dance form, along with mettle and team spirit.

The school offers courses for children, teenagers and adults. In addition to the classical dances, dancers learn choreographies with lots of modern elements. Our dancers perform in shows in Switzerland and abroad as well as competing regularly in competitions and taking exams - ofren with excellent results.

On Wednesdays from 17:15 - 18:00, we have a special dance class for the smallest dancers. Children from 4 years of age learn simple Highland Dance steps that they can later use for the traditional dances as well as modern choreographies.

Highland Dancing teaches children discipline and endurance. They also develop their coordination, spacial awareness and self confidence. At the same time, they make lifelong friendships and have a whole lot of fun!
